The Battle of the Queens :: Numbers for Kanye & Minaj In! + Nicki Responds

Written by thejasminebrand in Blog

Billboard numbers for Kanye West’s ”My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” and Nicki  Minaj’s ”Pink Friday” literally just came in!

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Ye sold 496,000, while Minaj sold 375,000. This is Ye’s fourth straight No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Minaj had the second-best sales week for a female hip-hop act–apparently the real queen in this category is Lauryn Hill, whose 1998 album,  ”The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” started at No. 1 with 423,000.

Nicki took to twitter to express her gratitude, “team minaj u are the wind beneath my wings. now maybe ppl will understand after watching that vid. can’t believe i’m just seeing it! xoxoxo”

As of yet, Kanye hasn’t takent to twitter, but decided to celebrate by wrapping gifts.

Clap for ‘em!
