Last night, First Lady Michelle Obama slightly pushed the fashion envelope by rocking a purple embellished gown at the White House State dinner. The gown was designed by 38-year-old Korean-American designer named Doo-Ri Chung. Apparently, who the first lady wears is a pretty big friggin deal to folk.
Earlier this year, American designers got pissy, when she wore a gown by the late Alexander McQueen (who was British), to the state dinner with China’s president. We hope critics and those that attended the dinner (South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and his wife, Kim Yoon-ok, tennis legend Billie Jean King and renowned chef David Chang), weren’t offended this time Thoughts on the dress?
