[Watch!] Rihanna Performs + Adele Explains Giving the Brit Awards Her ‘Middle Finger’

Written by thejasminebrand in Blog

Last night, the Brit Awards took place in London. Award winners included Adele for Best Female Artist of the Year, Coldplay for British Group, Rihanna for International Female Solo Artist, and Bruno Mars for International Male Solo Artist. All four of the mentioned award winners also performed for viewers.

While giving her speech for winning her second title, British Album of the Year, Adele was interrupted because she had gone over the time limit. In response, Adele brought out her candid side and tossed her middle finger up. She later explained that the bird flip was not meant for her fans, of course, but for whomever was responsible for telling the host to cut her speech short. She explains,

“I was about to thank the British public for their support and they cut me off, and I’m sorry if I offended anyone.”

Watch her flip the bird here.

Despite Adele’s speech disappointment, Rihanna tweeted that she enjoyed the show, although London was too cold for her. Peep her tweets.

And here’s footage of Ri-Ri performing “We Found Love,” Adele performing “Rolling in the Deep,” plus the tributes to Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.
