Contrary to circulating reports, Missy Elliott and producing partner Timbaland will not be participating in the upcoming posthumous album of R&B songstress Aaliyah.
This may come as a shock to those who believed initial reports that the album, executive produced by Drake, would have some involvement by both Missy and Timbo. Mona Scott-Young, longtime manager for Missy Elliott, shared in a statement:
“Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate…We’ve seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated.”
Says Missy Elliott,
“Tim and I carry Aaliyah with us everyday, like so many of the people who love her. She will always live in our hearts. We have nothing but love and respect for her memory and for her loved ones left behind still grieving her loss. They are always in our prayers.”
Welp, there ya have it. Do you think that Drake will be able to pull off a successful album, without input from Missy and Timbaland?

Hell naw! Drake stuff sound unfinished and doesn’t sound like music she would have made. Missy and Tim are doing right…Keep her memory sacred!
YUP……. DRAKE GOT THIS!!!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT NOBODY SAU HE IS A GREAT LYRICIST N HE KNOWS HE DOING THIS FOR SOMEONE ELSE AND NOT FOR HIM… SO HE WILL DO HER JUSTICE

Why in the world would drake want to do an aaliyah album? I don’t get it. Especially without the cooperation of those who respected andloved her most. I hope he don’t f it up if he insist on doin itbcz I have nothing but love for aaliyah’s beautiful talent and would hate to c It diminished just to make some money
