[Exclusive] Mimi Faust Responds to Claims That Stevie J Has Custody of Daughter

Written by thejasminebrand in Blog

While drama is heating up on the new season of Love & Hip Hop (New York), the drama continues off season w/ their Atlanta counter parts. This week, news spread that Stevie J and Mimi Faust (both of Love & Hip Hop (Atlanta) were ensued in a heavy public debate about their 3-year-old daughter, Eva. Over the weekend, Stevie J tweeted that he has custody of the couple’s daughter.

Meanwhile, Mimi denies this. In an exclusive interview with the Jasmine Brand, Mimi dishes on the current custody status (or lack thereof) of Eva, why she decided to end her relationship with Stevie J and the scoop on what’s already evolving on the second season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Peep a few excerpts below:

On what’s currently going on between Stevie J and Mimi Faust, in terms of parental issues:
Unfortunately, the man that I decided to have a child with, is a little bit immature. No matter what I do, it’s never good enough for him. If I have Eva with me, he says I’m keeping her from him. There’s no winning [with me], with him. It’s as simple as that.
On when tension between Stevie and Mimi started, over their daughter:
This just started after I just did not want to deal with him anymore. That’s when it really got ugly. It happened when he decided to be w/ Joseline, honestly. You can’t have the both of us. If you want to be with Joseline, then by all means, go do that. You’re not gonna be with me and Joseline. That’s not going down. When he made his decision to do that, I decided to exit stage left. Eva was with me from the beginning of her life, up until honestly, about just three months ago, when I really started to get busy, when we stopped shooting. She was with me. Day in and day out.
On how much time he spends with Eva:
Not a lot. He’s always with Joseline. Anytime he’s out, he’s there…he’s never here. Not very much time at all.
On if he has custody:

If he has custody, I would like for him to put the paperwork up. Matter of fact, I will give him and anyone else, $5,000 to show custody papers. I have not been to court one time, about my daughter. It’s bullsh*t, a complete lie. There’s no custody issue–that’s it. The man is a liar. We sat in that therapy office and he admitted he’s a compulsive liar.

On how she describes Stevie’s relationship with his other children:
You know, I’m going to pass on that.
On if she considers Stevie and ‘dead-beat’ father:
I would consider him in and out.
On if she and Stevie have ended their romantic relationship:
We haven’t been [together] for a very long time.

On rumors that VH1 is filming the second season:

Yes, we are.

On if she’s dating and if viewers will see her date on the new season:

Ummm, yes, I have a friend. Absolutely.

If she watched Love & Hip Hop New York’s new season:

I did.

On viewers comparing Mimi to Tahiry Jones (of Love & Hip Hop NY):

I see a similar situation but I wasn’t crying and fighting and all of that over Stevie. Not one time, did I do that. I don’t see the comparisons. I was never begging, none of that. Similar situation, but totally different.

I admire Mimi; she’s a lady. Finally, she’s over Stevie. I hope she continues to stay away from him and she should keep her beautiful child away from him and Joceline! He’s bad enough, but there’s no way I’d have her withing 30 feet of my baby!
