Jermaine Dupri and So So Def held it’s 20th Anniversary Concert over the weekend in Atlanta and two members of popular 90’s R & B girl group, Xscape were noticeably absent. Original members and reality stars Tameka “Tiny” Harris  and Kandi Burruss decided not to join sisters and group members, Tamika and LaTocha Scott on stage for the historic reunion. Of course, the show went off without a hitch, but where were they?

Tiny opted to spend time with hubby rapper T.I and their family on a ski getaway and  later attended NASCAR’s Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Kandi opted for a speaking engagement at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

As some of you know, Xscape was very popular in the 90s, releasing three albums and spawning hits such as “Just Kickin It,” Understanding,” and “My Little Secret” before  the group semi disbanded in 2001. Tiny and Kandi have been very successful since departing the group winning a Grammy for writing TLC’s ‘No Scrubs” and both appearing on popular reality shows, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle and Real Housewives of Atlanta.

So what gives? Although Tiny hasn’t publicly admitted why she skipped the concert, it has been rumored that So So Def would not pay her appearance fees to attend. Kandi has been much more outspoken about her decision to ditch the celebration. During a recent radio interview with V-103 Atlanta radio personality Big Tigga she stated:

I don’t think it’s just an issue with me and Tocha [Scott], it’s the whole group. I don’t really wanna have that conversation right now, I don’t wanna feel like ‘oh we’re talking because you want me to do something this week.’ Like if you really wanna fix the situation or have a real conversation then, OK.”

Sounds VERY deep rooted. And in other news..
