Reportedly,  he past at his Atlanta home. Fast forward to the present day and Tiny’s mother, Dianne Pope, spoke with Sister 2 Sister about losing her husband to Alzheimer’s. She explained:

He was a sweet, gentle man…gentleman. He wore a suit every day of his life. Every day, anybody could have came in this house and he was sitting there watching TV; he would have a suit on.

She shared that Charles was one of the founders of the Atlanta group, The Tams, and he stopped performing with them in 2009.

He wasn’t forgetting the words to his songs. He was just forgetting to hold the mic up to his mouth but he was still singing!

She continued:

Anybody who has anybody that has Alzheimer’s, you need to be patient with them because they don’t know. They don’t know what they’re doing.

The family hopes to continue to raise money for the foundation they started in Charles’ honor: For The Love of Our Fathers. The goal of the foundation is to hold a benefit fundraiser in the near future. To make a donation to the For The Love of Our Fathers foundation, visit fortheloveofourfathers.org.
