Oprah Auctioning Off Items-The Jasmine-Brand

Looks like everything must go. Oprah Winfrey is auctioning items from her Santa Barbara home next month with all of the proceeds benefitting the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation College Fund. Based in South Africa, the fund helps graduates from the Oprah Leadership Academy For Girls attend colleges and universities around the world. Oprah hinted that she needed a bit of a change.  In the March issue of O Magazine, she wrote that intended to remodel the home to more reflect “more of her true self” writing,

I am evolving [and] my taste is too,”The gilded mirrors, marble urns, the lavish carpets and sherbet palette — it was all very grand, but it wasn’t very true to myself. And there you have it: That thing that had been missing from all the beautiful places I’d ever lived in was me!”

What exactly could you score from her home? According to Entertainment Weekly, up for grabs are items such as,

 A collection of English George Smith upholstered furniture, an 18th century Louis XVI chest with an estimated value of between $30,000 and $50,000, and a set of embroidered yellow silk Louis XV armchairs worth between $20,000 and $40,000.Artworks by artists by Allen Stringfellow, John Kramer and Clementine Hunter.

Popular auction house, Kaminski Auctions will host to the event to be held at the Santa Barbara Polo Club and Racquet Club in Carpinteria, California.General admission is available, as well as $100 VIP package that guarantees a seat, a catalog with photos of all of the items and admission to the special preview. In addition to items from her California home, Winfrey has also included items from her home in Maui, apartment in Chicago and farm in Indiana. The public can preview the collection for free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 through Nov. 1.
