Chad Johnson‘s name change to Ocho Cinco during his pro-football career proved he was an individual but his semi-squeaky clean image changed once he ventured into the reality world for love. Associating himself with Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada seemed to be a match made in heaven until he cheated on her during the honey moon phase of their marriage, not to mention the domestic violence charges that he received. Since then, his career arguably took a turn for the unemployed and loveless. Peter Bailey took a trip to South Beach Miami to check Chad’s life after football. The very candid ex-husband shared his love for Alvin Ailey Dance Company, “I ain’t miss Alvin Ailey Dance Company not once”, painting his nails black, his resistance to monogomy and his love for his ex-wife.

Check out excerpts from his interview below.

Grandmothers Influence on Him Being Into Theater/Being a Weirdo:

My grandmother introduced me to Alvin Ailey in 1998 at the Gusman theatre downtown, the old Gusman theatre in 1988. And Since 1988, I ain’t miss Alvin Ailey Dance Company not once. I’ve seen every play from Cats, Lion King, Nutcracker, to Phantom of the Opera.

On NOT Being a Role Model:

That game is meant to be played for fun, they see it as a business. They see that once you get to this point you’re supposed to be a role model, you to carry yourself a certain way. I am not your child’s parent. I’m not the parent so if I’m going to be a role model, I’m not acting so nothing about what I’m doing is a role.

If He’s Made Critical Errors With Women:

I didn’t make any critical errors, I always tell the truth from jump. Discipline I lack it, dealing with one woman lets think rationally, let’s think logically. It ain’t have nothing to do with South beach, it ain’t have nothing to do with Miami.  I don’t care how fine you are, for every fine woman there’s a dude that is tired of that same woman. Human nature is undefeated and what I’ve always done, even in my past relationship is tell the truth from jump. I never lied, I’m not going to lie to you, why sell you a dream.

On Some Men Not Being Able to Commit:

There are men out there that are willing to give their all, that have the discipline to be able to give them that storybook ending, that fairytale as I so call it. I think I’m good for that for about about 6 months, I’m on track, I’m good. I don’t care how fine you are, I’m going to lose interest.

If He Still Loves Evelyn Lozada:

Yeah, love don’t go nowhere like that. I will always love her, matter fact I love every goddamn body to an extent, love ain’t going nowhere.

If He Loved Evelyn Lozada as a Person:

The person, the individual because I got to know another Evelyn, besides what everybody else knows. I don’t care how she operates, I don’t care what it looked like, I don’t care how it played out, I don’t care the fact that she moved on. I love that being.

On if He Was Himself When He Was on Reality TV:

Anytime I was on that camera there was no script. I ain’t role playing, I’m giving you Chad that’s raw and uncut, anything that comes out my mouth is raw and uncut.

If Evelyn Dealt With Him Because of What he Had:

On my plate was empty with her too but my conversation game was on point. I win with my mouthpiece not with my pockets.

On How he Feels About Evelyn:

E was dope that’s all I can say because that chapter was gone, that chapter was played so my last thoughts will always be positive. E was dope, she had her sh*t in order.

On Unsuccessfully Trying to Commit:

We’ve all tried it, everybody sitting around me in this area has tried it. It failed for some reason, whatever reason it failed and it’s going to keep happening. I am just going based off the stories, its in your face, it happens everyday, it doesn’t matter who it is—we can go across the board everybody’s messing up. Who made up the rules who said its supposed to be like this anyway.

One Thing He’d Like to Change in Society:

Accepting of everybody. You look on Twitter, if you don’t do it this way your gay, if you do it that way, you’re a fa—ot. The more acceptance of everybody and whatever they try to do, whatever their preference is,  if he gay so f—ing what.

Why He Paints His Nails Black:

Because I’m in a dark space right now, that’s why.
