My mother & I (2013)

As the owner of theJasmineBRAND.com, I don’t share many personal moments, with the exception of a few holidays. Each year, I interview my mother for Mother’s Day. It’s one of my favorite holidays and is the perfect opportunity to honor your mother or whomever was instrumental in playing that role in your life. Check out our conversation below.

What do you enjoy most about motherhood?

I enjoy most about motherhood is when I look into my daughters eyes and say I love her, her knowing she is truly loved.

What’s one of the biggest mistakes mothers do with their daughters?

The biggest mistakes mother do with their daughters is failing to share their own mistakes, poor choices and fears.  Not all  rebounds occur through  their own strength. Give them credit for their good choices and embrace that fact mistakes will occur, fear is natural and choices are yours to make and own.

You have an adult daughter (me!), how has parenting changed, since raising me?

Parenting has changed since raising you; there appears to be less boundaries between parent and child and more social influences which also appear to dictate their behaviors. In times past, parents dictated their child’s behavior. Not all of the “dictating” was good but it was always a concerted effort for the best outcome to occur.
