[WATCH] Diamond & Brianna Perry Talk ‘Sisterhood of Hip Hop’, If Their Show Will Help Female Rappers + Diamond Reacts To Rumors She’s Dating Keyshia Cole’s Estranged Husband

Diamond: Yeah, I think we’re cordial. That’s why I like this show cause at the end of the day we know how to be cordial. We’re women and we respect that we all sacrifice to be up here. Yeah, we had our disagreements but it was never to the point where we were physical or anything. She felt how she felt, I felt how I felt and anybody that knows me knows if I feel strong about something, that’s all I see.

On Women In The Industry:

Brianna Perry: It’s not even just the music, like in the corporate world the man, he just has the more dominant voice than a woman. So you gotta work a million times harder if you want to have that shine. I feel like female rap is definitely back. You have females who are doing their thing right now, they’re on the charts and it’s just about to be a flood. I feel like the gates are just about to open and we’re coming through starting with our Sisterhood of Hip Hop. It’s just going to be an amazing time. Women, we got that voice back.

Diamond Responding To Being Involved With Keyshia Cole’s Estranged Husband:

Diamond: I’m not even finna entertain it because it’s not true and it’s negativity, right now it’s about Sisterhood of Hip Hop. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a good friend, a real friend. The industry is small, everybody is cordial, everybody runs into each other. And that’s really what it is.

Diamond On Her Love Life And If She’s Dating:

Diamond: I have somebody on a situation, on the side that’s still kinda affected sometimes when people put stuff out there and make it seem like it’s something. I don’t really want to bring this person to the forefront because as you see every week it’s something different.

The Breakfast Club: You got a man, Diamond?

Diamond: Yeah. [Laughs]

The Breakfast Club: Is he in the industry?

Diamond: Yeah, he plays ball.

The Breakfast Club: Football? Basketball?

Diamond: Basketball.

On What She Hopes To Gain From Reality TV:

Brianna Perry: I love it because personally it’s so many people who haven’t heard a Brianna Perry record. They haven’t seen me. So just for new people to get exposed to me and get exposed to my music and then also my journey like I just graduated from the University of Miami.

How The Show Will Affect The Rap Game For Women:

Diamond: It’s going to show them that it can be more than one. It’s always been more than one. But for them to see it on television, to see it be done, to see our managers, to see our labels, to see us fall and get back up and to help each other. I come to her [Brianna] about advice; business wise, personal wise, [and] she comes to me. It’s really real, it’s nothing staged, nothing was setup and you can see the sisterhood, the unity that it can me more than one just like there’s more than one in the male dominated game.
