(EXCLUSIVE) Jay Z Fears Video Depo Will Be Leaked To Media

Jay-Z and his label argued they had obtained the right license and did nothing wrong. The legal battle has been going on for years and is still being fought in federal court.

Both parties have been filing documents in the case demanding certain experts, documents or facts be excluded from the trial for various reasons.

Then on October 5th, Jay-Z filed docs in the case demanding the plaintiff not be allowed to have a copy of his videotaped depo without a watermark. He explains that over the last couple years, various celebrity depos have been leaked to the media, including Lil Wayne’s which appeared on a number of media outlets. Jay Z says that the plaintiff now claims the watermark is distracting but he isn’t buying that excuse and fears the tape will end up in the media if he is given a un-watermarked copy.

Jay Z heads to his office in NYC.

He says that no one was ever caught for leaking Lil Wayne’s depo and that makes him fear for his privacy. The rapper says that following his depo in the case, the plaintiff agreed to have the videographer hand deliver the tape to the court reporters office and be held under lock and key. He says that the tape features a watermark but doesn’t obstruct his facial expressions and the jury in the case will be able to see the whole deposition. He says the man suing him is only demanding a copy without the watermark for selfish reasons and he doesn’t trust it will remain private if he is given the tape.

The music mogul also says he is going to testify in the trial so the videotaped depo isn’t that important given he will be in the courtroom. He is demanding the depo remain under lock and key or it will most likely be exploited.
