Tamron Hall Denied Farewell by 'Today' Show, Rejected Multimillion Dollar Deal To Stay At NBC

Tamron Hall, Al Roker, Megyn Kelly

Reportedly, she was told last Friday, minutes before going on-air. An insider says,

She was devastated to get the news. It was almost an Ann Curry moment live again on TV. It was surreal.

Megyn starts in September and will either take over Tamron’s 9 a.m. slot or appear at 10 a.m.  Roker will continue his duties as “Today” weatherman. He stated about the situation,

I’ve been part of the ‘Today’ family for over 20 years, and will be for many years to come. I enjoy hosting the 9 a.m., and while there’s some disappointment, it’s been a lot of fun and change is part of the business.

There are also reports that Tamron was not allowed a traditional farewell, as is typical for anchors in her position. She has yet to comment on social media, but released the following statement:

The last ten years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful. I’m also very excited about the next chapter.

Fans of Tamron can continue to catch her hosting “Deadline: Crime” on Investigation Discovery.
