Deion Sanders Accused of Dodging Questions In Lawsuit Over Son’s Attack

theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Deion Sanders is accused of refusing to answer questions under oath regarding his son’s alleged beat-down of a school employee – in the $1 million dollar legal battle. Now the alleged victim is demanding the judge sanction the former NFL star for his behavior.

Here’s the latest: On July 13th, John Darjean filed a motion to compel the deposition of Deion and for sanctions due to the ex NFL star walking out of his original deposition refusing to answer questions under oath.

The plaintiff explains Deion’s deposition was scheduled for July 7th. On the date, Deion and his lawyer showed up to have his depo taken, which includes him being grilled under oath about the facts of the case.

However, after approximately three to five minutes of being deposed, Deion abruptly stood up refusing to answer any further questions and left the room and location without the consent of the plaintiff’s lawyer or his own lawyers.

The plaintiff’s lawyer requested Deion’s lawyer go to the hallway and get their client, in an attempt to finish his depo that day. Their attempts to convince Deion to come back into the building were unsuccessful.

Darjean is demanding the court sanction Deion for his behavior and order him to be deposed at a date in the near future, along with him cover all court and videographer fees & for a special master to be appointed by the judge to attend the future deposition to ensure the events that took place on July 7th with regard to Deion’s conduct do not occur again. He is also seeking $5k from Deion for discovery abuse.

Here’s the backstory: John Darjean, an employee at the Dallas high school that Deion’s son attends, sued Deion and his ex-wife Pilar for in excess of $1 million in damages for the brutal attack at the hands of their offspring.

Darjean allegedly tried to confiscate Deion’s teenage son (Shilo Sanders) cellphone – which was being used despite school rules banning the use of the device – and it caused the former NFL star’s son to attack the employee, so badly that he needed to be transported to a local hospital. The altercation resulted in him having spinal surgery for his injuries.

In his suit, Darjean said he asked Deion’s son for his cell phone, but Shilo Sanders responded by physically assaulting him, which lead to severe and permanent injuries including permanent neurological injuries and damage to his cervical spine

Darjean blamed Deion and his ex-wife Pilar of failing to supervise their child. He sued seeking $1 million+ for the pain, mental anguish, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, physical and mental impairment, disfigurement along with loss of wage earning capacity and medical expenses.

Deion responded to the suit, denying his son Shilo assaulted the school employee.

The ex NFL responded in court stating, “such allegations are not true, either in whole or in part” and demanded Darjean hand over evidence proving his allegations.
