Kanye West Asks Jay-Z For Face To Face Meeting

Kanye West and Jay-Z are one step closer to ending their feud. According to reports, Kanye has requested a face-to-face meeting with his former BFF. As previously reported, Jay recently opened up about his tumultuous relationship with his friend and musical collaborator Kanye West. In fact, he shared that his song “Kill Jay Z”, a single off his latest album, “4:44”, wasn’t really directed at Kanye, like most assumed. On the track, Jay rhymes,

I know people backstab you, I feel bad too/ But this ‘f— everybody’ attitude ain’t natural/ But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe/ But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye/ You gave him 20 million without blinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f— was he thinkin’?/ ‘F— wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.

However, Jay says,

It’s not even about a Kanye diss. It’s not a diss, I’m talking to myself the whole time. I’m not talking about Kanye when I say, ‘You dropped out of school, you lost your principles,’ I’m talking about me!

He also references when Kanye hopped on stage, blasting him during a rant at his Sacramento show. Back at his November 2016 show, Ye verbally called out the couple (Jay Z and Beyonce) and even referred to the infamous 2009 incident when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s Video Music Awards acceptance speech to say that Beyoncé deserved to win. Reflecting on the incident, Jay says:

You got hurt, because this guy was talking about you on a stage. But what really hurt me, you can’t bring my kid or my wife into it. … We’ve gotten past bigger issues, but you brought my family into it, now it’s a problem with me. You know it’s a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues. And he knows crossed the line. He knows. And I know he knows. ‘Cause we’ve never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we’ve had many. That’s part of who we are.

He adds,

Don’t talk about anyone’s kid onstage. It’s too much energy. You give room for anybody to comment. Our children are already in this place where they are affected by our celebrity. Don’t go doing something that allows people to pit us against each other and talk about my child or even his child. Don’t do that.

He then admitted that he also might have shared too much on the song.

The $20 million thing shouldn’t have been said. Sometimes, you go too far. That’s a personal thing between him and I. He knows and I know. But nothing was off the table so I’m not even gonna say it was a mistake. Nothing was off the table for this album.

Fast forward to the present day and it’s highly likely that they’ll be hashing things out.
