F. Gary Gray In Talks To Direct ‘Men In Black’ Spinoff

F. Gary Gray is in talks to direct the new Men In Black film. Men in Black has a completed script and has been greenlit by Sony, with an expected June 14, 2019 release date. Steven Spielberg is exec producing.

The first film, starred Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, with two sequels. This new film is a spinoff based off the original premise, of a covert force policing the alien population hiding in plain sight. Jones nor Smith are expected to return and a new cast will be attached to the film.

F. Gary Gray directed Friday, Set It Off, The Negotiator, The Italian Job and Straight Outta Compton. He also directed the eighth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, The Fate of the Furious, which had the highest-grossing worldwide opening ever and is the 11th highest-grossing film of all-time. He also directed such critically acclaimed and award-winning music videos as “It Was a Good Day” by Ice Cube, “Natural Born Killaz” by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, “Keep Their Heads Ringin'” by Dr. Dre, “Waterfalls” by TLC and “Ms. Jackson” by OutKast.
