Michael B. Jordan Shuts Down Rumors That He Only Likes White Women

Michael B. Jordan has received backlash time and time again about dating women outside of his race. In January, theJasmineBRAND reported Jordan was reportedly off the market and taken by Ashlyn Castro – woman who appears to be non-black. While he later clarified reports, stating he was “technically single.” His clarity seemed to have brought a sense of calmness to the social media sphere.

Since the actor has been on vacation, photos surfaced of him being paired with a white woman. The photo has ignited many on social media, questioning why it seems like he only dates women outside of his race. In an Instagram Live, he addresses these claims. He begins his rant,

Y’all wildin’ right now. Y’all are buggin’. Taking off on your boy, ight!

As he belts out a laugh, he explains why he has been caught with a white women while on vacation.

Yes, I’m on vacation right now. Newsflash alright, there’s not a black women in Italy. It’s not, it’s just not. I’m sorry. Y’all buggin’, I’m reading through the comments, y’all tearing ya boy up. Y’all doing too much.

He continues by addressing one comment in particular. A user mentioned referenced something about some milk and cookies. Jordan brings attention to the comment by clarifying,

I actually found a funny one. It was something about cookies and white milk – no. I like milk, alright. I like chocolate milk, I like almond milk, strawberry milk. You know the cinnamon toast crunch? The milk after that? I like that, too. That’s pretty good. I like milk period.

After his impromptu monologue, a friend of Jordan comes out from the corner and says,

That was my white girlfriend in Italy, though!

Jordan concedes,

That’s the funny thing! That was his girl!

The video ends with Jordan insisting on more positivity in the world. He also says,

As a black man, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Jordan has addressed this accusations before. In an interview with Ebro in the Morning, he was asked these same questions. And to this he explained:

It’s one of those things where, just because I’m not seen often — People take ownership over people that are in the limelight. That’s another thing I had to wrap my brain around in becoming more successful. People have ownership over you. And just because I’m not in the media 24/7 with different women every single day it’s like, ‘Oh no, he’s mine.’ You think I’ve only dated two women in my entire life? So the ones you saw are the only ones I’ve ever talked to in my entire life? It’s like, c’mon. Let’s be real.
