Tamar Braxton 1st African American To Win “Celebrity Big Brother”

And the winner of “Big Brother: Celebrity” is…Tamar Braxton! A self-proclaimed “Big Brother” super-fan, Tamar won game challenges and used strategic alliances with reality TV star/music industry giant Kandi Burruss and Olympic athlete Lo Lo Jones to win the CBS game show. Only she and former NFLer Ricky Williams remained, leaving her as the very first African American winner. In addition to making winner history, Braxton, 41, also made show history as she broke the “First to Enter” curse — a theory that the first person to enter the Big Brother house never wins..Watch below as host Julie Chen presented her with the final house-key.

Tay’s singing sisters – Towanda and Traci Braxton – immediately took to social media to congratulate her.

Along with bragging rights as the winner, Tamar Braxton also walked away with a new chance at friendship with competitor Kandi. The two hashed out 20 years worth of tension on the show.

Tamar Braxton took home a whopping $250,000 for winning “Big Brother: Celebrity!” Congratulations, Tamar!
