R.Kelly – Grand Jury Allegedly Convenes Following Allegations Of New Sextape, Kelly Accused Of Tampering W/ 2008 Acquittal Trial

A grand jury has allegedly been appointed and convened in Cook County, IL following new evidence corroborating with R. Kelly’s newest sexual misconduct allegations. Last week, a new alleged 42-minute VHS sextape was brought to Cook County State’s Attorney office, showing Kelly engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl by lawyer Michael Avenatti‘s client identified as a “whistle-blower.”

The State Attorney has not confirmed or denied jury proceedings or any new investigation. Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg has responded to new reports.

No one from law enforcement has contacted me or my client regarding any potential investigation. Certainly they are aware that I am representing him so if there were any reason to speak to him I would suspect they would have reached out to me. Grand jury proceedings are, by law, supposed to be secret, so to the extent people are commenting on what may or may not be going on today are possibly violating the law. Still, I can tell you that I am unaware of any proceedings.

About the tape when it came out last weekend, Greenberg stated:

We are unaware of any new information involving Mr. Kelly. We have not been contacted by anyone. We have not been informed about any new information by anyone and we have not been contacted by law enforcement.

Avenatti tweeted Sunday evening allegations surrounding Kelly’s 2008 child pornography acquittal trial. Accusing Kelly and his counsel of tampering with trial:

We have now uncovered how R Kelly was able to gain his acquittal in 2008: We have discovered substantial evidence that he and certain enablers engaged in systematic witness intimidation, evidence tampering, physical threats, and payments to witnesses. They rigged the trial.
