Jussie Smollett Allegedly Bought Drug Molly From Nigerian Brothers + Apologized To ‘Empire’ Cast, Maintains His Innocence

New details and allegations continue to surround Jussie Smollett. After being arrested and posting $100,000 bond on Thursday (Feb. 21st), intricate evidence regarding how Chicago detectives arrived at this point are now being revealed.

Certain text messages from four days prior to the attack happened have been brought forward, supporting the allegation that Smollett orchestrated the attack which took place around 2 a.m. Jan. 29. One of the suspected attackers, actor Abimbola (Abel) Osundairo, claims he was texted by Smollett on Jan. 25 with a message which read:

Might need your help on the low. You around to meet up and talk face to face.

Once met in person, Osundairo claims Smollett explained how the attack should and would happen. According to prosecutors, Smollett told the Osundairo to say “Empire N****,” and “this is MAGA country;” and the Smollett was the one to inquire about the inclusion of Abimbola’s brother, Obabinjo Osundairo, which was around the time when Smollett had given the brother a $100 bill to buy supplies for the attack – rope, bleach, and ski masks.

Smollett even took the brother’s to the location of where the attack would happen. Making note about a specific camera which he would hope to capture the whole ordeal. Unfortunately, detectives were only able to uncover footage which showed the two brother’s walking in the vicinity of the incident.

For the brother’s return on investment, Smollett paid them one (1) $3,5000 check made out to Abimbola and backdated to Jan. 23, 2019. In addition to posting bail, Smollett was ordered to hand over his passport. Reporters at the court house claimed Smollett was plagued with cameras and media while being surrounding by bodyguards as he got into a Tahoe and driven away.

In addition to laying out the alleged staged attack, police claim that they retrieved text messages from Jussie asking to buy drugs from Abel, specifically the drug ‘Molly’. They also detail how close Jussie allegedly was to Abel prior to the incident.
