Cardi B Trademarks ‘Okurrr’, Responds To Criticism – You Think I Ain’t Gonna Profit Off This Sh*t?! [VIDEO]

Cardi B didn’t hold back when she confronted the criticism she received for trademarking her iconic phrase “Okurrr.” The 26-year-old rapper stated on the video:

“Wait, wait, wait… So you hoes is mad because I trademark ‘Okurrr?'” Let me tell you something, every single time I go to a corporate meeting these folks be like, ‘I can’t wait to hear you say okurrr. Everytime I go to a TV show… ‘Hey, hey can you teach me how to say okurrr?’ Everytime I go do a commercial, ‘Hey can you finish it off with okurrr? You think I ain’t gonna profit off this s***? B**** white folks do it all the motha f***in time. You wanna be mad at me because I wanna get some motha f***in money? While I’m still here I’m gonna secure all the f***ing bags.

She ended her Instagram video with this:

Let me give y’all a secret too. It’s 2019 b****es. It’s a lot of ways to get rich. Y’all just gotta get y’all selves some business, and stop minding motha f***ing others. I’m a get this bag while I’m here hoe.”

News of Cardi B’s trademark was announced Friday. According to court documents, Cardi’s business, Washpoppin, Inc., filed trademark documents to use the word for

“paper goods, namely paper cups and posters.”

Another trademark was filed to be able to use the phrase on clothing like t-shirts, hoodies, pants, and sweatshirts as well as leggings, bodysuits, dresses and undergarments. A third trademark was also made for “Okurr,” which only two r’s.
