Kodak Black Apologizes To Lauren London Over Nipsey Hussle Comments, L.A. Radio Station Bans His Music [VIDEO]

The Internet erupted in a frenzy when controversial rapper Kodak Black attempted to try to flirt with Lauren London, who is currently grieving the loss of her boyfriend and father of her son, slain rapper Nipsey Hussle.

After several celebrities slammed Black’s comments, most notably T.I., he offered up an apology—but it’s too little too late for one of L.A.’s most popular radio stations.

Less than 24 hours after rapper Kodak Black attempted to shoot his shot at Lauren, prominent L.A. radio station Power 106 officially banned the rapper and will no longer support any of his music. This is after Black attempted to apologize for his comments, which was apparently not enough for Power 106.

In his video apology post on social media, Black said:

“If I disrespected you Lauren London, in any shape or form, I’m sorry. Even though I didn’t, and rest in peace to dude. My bad to them two. To all you other people trying to act like you little boy-ing me, if that’s how y’all want to feel, I’m in Georgia right now and tomorrow I’ll be in Norfolk Virginia. Don’t try to little boy me on the internet.”

In his initial comments about Lauren that were received with widespread backlash, Black stated:

“Lauren London that’s baby, though. She about to be out here single. She’s finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and s**t for him. I ain’t trying to shoot [my shot] at her. I’m saying, listen. She can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like the friend if you need to holla or a shoulder to lean on. She can call my line.”

Those comments have caused Power 106 to take a firm stance against him. Not only is his music banned from the radio station, he is also not allowed to set foot on the radio station’s premises. The station’s post on social media read:

“We stand with the family of Nipsey Hussle and are appalled by the disrespectful and poor comments made by Kodak Black. With that, Power 106 will not support Kodak Black’s music. #LongLiveNip”

Power 106 is one of the most popular radio stations in the country and is highly influential in the hip-hop community, so this ban could definitely impact Kodak Black’s future success. At press time, he has not responded to the ban against him.

Popular L.A. radio DJ Big Boy, of Big Boy’s Neighborhood, has also hinted that he will also be banning Kodak Black in a lengthy social media post:

I won’t disrespect my timeline posting a pic of Kodak Black. However, I will say this, I’m not here for the blatant disrespect and fake a** apologies. To disrespect the King Nipsey and The Queen Lauren, is where I draw the line. Hip Hop has been very disrespectful lately. Not only is this disrespectful to Hip Hop, but this is disrespectful to a beautiful human being, spirit and a legacy. Sometimes I feel a certain way, but I don’t publicly speak out. I just don’t fuck with the person, place or thing. This one, I can’t just keep it on a personal chill.”
He continued, adding:
“I will not stand by and Kodak Black come between an allegiance I have with dear FRIENDS. Nipsey’s honor can’t be disrespected like this. we must put a shield around @LaurenLondon and his ENTIRE Family. We can’t allow these things to happen. Nipsey wouldn’t. We look the other way and forgive too easily. I’m a black man first and I love all that deserve my love. I’m with unity, however, we must discipline our own as well. This isn’t about radio or dropping records, that’s been done. This is about protecting a LEGACY and holding people accountable. This may not change Kodak Black now, but I pray it changes his or someone’s future. For all those out there that wanna disrespect and play with royalty, I advise you to think “THRICE”. Long live the spirit, knowledge and wisdom of Nipsey Hussle. This has to be the standard FOREVER!!!”
