Wednesday, Forbes released it’s 2010 Word’s 100 Most Powerful Women list. The assessment was based less on traditional titles and roles and more on creative influence and entrepreneurship. The candidates were categorized into four groups: politics, business, media and lifestyle (that is, entertainment, sports and fashion).
Obviously, Bey and Gaga made the list, but see the full list (and their ranking) after the skip.
Compliments of Nah Right, we’ve got the full email Def Jam’s top execs received from Nas, regarding Lost Tapes 2.
To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks
Subject: PUT MY SHIT OUT! (love the subject line)
“Peace to all,
With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY’s slave. This is not the 1800?s, respect me and I will respect you. I won’t even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don’t connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist’s dream and aspirations.”
According to TMZ, Toni Braxton is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy….again. Braxton claims that she’s only worth somewhere between $1 mil and $10 mil … but she could have up to $50 mil in debts. Some of the creditors that she’s listed as owing are: The Four Seasons, medical bills, DirecTV, Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co. and the IRS.
Since the news of her money woes hit the net, Braxton’s been pretty mum on twitter. Although early Friday morning she did acknowledge that it’s her bday:
“It’s my birthday… Not a happy birthday, but it’s my birthday :-(“
Mama Tina Knowles stopped by the ‘Today Show’ to showcase her new clothing line, Miss Tina by Tina Knowles’ that’s now featured at Wal-Mart. Models came out featuring some key pieces, when Beyonce surprised the shows hosts and came out (at the 4:00 mark). Cute.
