Nicki Minaj Tells The God’s Honest Truth in ‘Press Conference’ With Charlamagne Tha God

By now, some of you may have already heard this, but we just discovered it recently and thought it was worth sharing. On Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album, she has a track called ‘Press Conference’ with radio personality, Charlamagne Tha God. The track, which is an intimate interview, features Minaj discussing everything from lack of support from her fellow New Yorkers, to whether or not she looks back and laughs at her wacky costumes, plans for her ovaries, along with comments from her side-kick/boyfriend/hype-man/executive producer, SB. Peep some excerpts:

On people saying that Nicki doesn’t rep New York:

“Y’all don’t want me to rep y’all. Y’all don’t hear it when I rep y’all cuz y’all be dick ridin’ everyone else.”

On being compared to Lady Gaga and other female artists:

“In a minute, if I f*ckin’ sit down and piss they gonna tell me that I can’t do that cuz another b*tch did it… For their minds to interpret it, they have to draw a comparison. And I always say even though that’s very common, it’s just the more simple-minded approach; as opposed to looking at every situation as if it’s for the first time and it is what it is. And even she [Lady Gaga] gets compared to Madonna. It’s a never-ending cycle, but I’d rather you compare me to somebody that’s winning and that’s won than compare me to [somebody that’s washed].”

On if she ever looks back at performances and thinks, “Oh my God, I look like a damn fool”:

“[Laughs] Yes, yes I do, yes I do… I keep saying this. I went to school for theater. I took four years of my life and dedicated it to theater. I did that because my passion was acting. When I stared rapping, I felt like I couldn’t really be myself. When I started winning, I started feeling, ‘you know what, I can be myself’. I can do my accents, I can do my voices, I can do my faces, I can do costumes, I can now bring me to who people see as Nicki Minaj. I think that where the confusion lies is that people thought that when I first came out that that was me in my entirety, but that wasn’t. That was a small facet of who I was. But who you see now is just a more multi-faceted mixture of all the personalities that I have in me. And if I was to not show that, then I would not being doing justice to all the people that feel like I do.

On if “Mixtape Nicki” and “Pop Nicki” can exist in the same space:

“They already are. They’re already existing together and they’re both winning… The world makes them two different people, but in my mind they’re the same person.”

On if she wants to have kids & get married:

“Oh my goodness I have to. I’m gonna get married and have kids. I love children, like I am obsessed with children. And yeah I believe in marriage, I believe marriage is forever.”

On if she has any regrets so far:

“I think my only regret right now that I can think of would be not enjoying every single moment when I could have… It kinda just comes so quickly and then all of a sudden it’s like, ‘wait a minute. I just did the Superbowl with Madonna’.
