Brandy Opens Up, Talks Daughter, Love & Dating

B-Rocka opens up on her blog and gives us a glimpse into what she has on her mind. According to the recent photos and rumors, she’s dating Flo-Rida. Peep her thoughts below.

My daughter hasn’t seen me with anybody in five years. I’ve been very cautious of who I date because I haven’t really dated in five years, so I’m very, very selective when it comes to that because I want to make sure that it’s real. I don’t want her to see me with just anybody because she means everything to me. So she hasn’t seen me with anybody since my last relationship. I don’t like that women are judged more than men when it comes to dating in the industry. It’s definitely stereotypical. We’re judged and men get praised for what they do.

Dating is hard, period, whether it’s in the industry or not. But it’s just a little bit harder because everybody’s all in your business. Everybody wants to know what’s what and the pictures and the paparazzi, all that stuff is crazy. But it is what it is. I’ve seen the photos of me and Flo Rida. It doesn’t matter how we met. We met. I don’t want to say that we’re a couple. I can definitely say that he’s somebody in my life and I’m definitely interested but I’m not serious with anybody. I’m a little bit afraid to give my heart away right now. It’s very scary. I’m open to it, but I just want to make sure that I’m taking my time.

It’s definitely because of my past and of course because my gut feeling is like, okay take things slow, don’t go too fast, make sure that your heart is in the right place, his heart is in the right place. That’s hard. I don’t want to go too fast and it not be what I want it to be later on.

If you’re a nice guy and you have your stuff together and you believe in family, I don’t care what industry you’re in. But people that are in the entertainment business are scary because there’s so much out there for them. They can get whatever they want and you have to be a strong guy to be in a committed relationship. You have to be strong and ready for that. And I just think if you’re not ready for that, then don’t tell me that you are and you’re not. Don’t be ready. Be honest with a girl. That’s what I told my brother. As long as you’re honest with women, then you’re fine. Then you can do what you want to do, just as long as you’re honest. Don’t tell somebody that they’re your girlfriend and then you go out and act like you don’t have a girlfriend. That’s not right.

So I’m scared in that sense because I don’t play around with the whole cheating thing. Please don’t do that. I don’t like that. At all. I’m so scared of that. I’m scared to give my heart away. I don’t know where to find a good guy. I just think that they’re around and I think you have to be good and at some point you’ll attract that. I really believe that. First, people should stop looking. The looking thing does not work. Just let love find you.

My favorite quote: Just let love find you.

Chilli on Cheating, Mentions Usher

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Chilli author’s a blog on Vibe and provided her perspective today on cheating. Here’s an excerpt: My general feeling on cheating, period, whether it’s a girl cheating on a guy—because they do—or vice versa is that I don’t really understand it. We live in a country where we can choose our mate so if you’re unhappy with your mate for whatever reason, then break up. It’s pretty simple. Cheating takes too much effort. You’re hiding and doing all kinds of crazy stuff. It’s just unnecessary and it’s extremely hurtful. It’s excruciating pain.

I’ll just say this: it wasn’t that I just experienced cheating with Usher because he and I never discussed that in detail. That wasn’t the first time I experienced cheating in a relationship. I’ve never cheated but I don’t know any woman on this planet who hasn’t experienced something like that, whether it’s cheating during the relationship or cheating during a breakup, which some people don’t consider cheating because you’re not technically together but you still haven’t really broken apart.

A lot of people out there are really good at hiding things and making it seem like everything is normal so you don’t suspect that they’re cheating. Usually things don’t work out, not because of a cheating situation. It could just be just compatibility. Most people, in my opinion, that are together and even married shouldn’t even be together. A lot of times you just have somebody in your life because you feel like you need someone in your life. You feel like you need a girlfriend or a boyfriend. Those are your own insecurities.

I found it a bit boring and dry, but think it’s dope that she authentically is at a place where she’s open enough to share her expectations on being loyal in relationships. I still wanna yawn, but love her nonetheless.

DMX’s estranged wife, Tashera Simmons, recently shared an update on her upcoming “tell-all” book, Strength of Woman.

“It’s not a tell-all,” Simmons promised in an interview. “I want to clear that up. It’s a memoir, it’s a story about our life, my life and our life together. My side of the story because I feel in his book, he didn’t really get into detail to better understand it…I think reading my book, it explains everything. I’m talking about everything, from when we first met at 11 and we got together from 18 and I’m starting from there until then on…It’s a positive tell-all. I’m gonna keep it 100 percent real, I’m more classy than [to say negative facts] — if you read from the beginning up until the point it gets crazy, you’ll kinda understand the whole story…There’s so many rumors out there. I haven’t filed [for divorce] yet but we are separated. We are separated. It’s 20 years [we’ve been together.]” (All Hip Hop TV)

Her husband is currently in jail for violating probation.

According to her twitter account she shared, “I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album. Hope u understand.”

She refers to her as “RiRi”, so perhaps everything’s still cool (I’m reaching here).

VH1 has teamed up with the wives and girlfriends of some of the NBA’s most elite players to give the viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of a professional basketball player’s wife in VH1’s original series, Basketball Wives.  All of the women are not wives, but have had some form of a relationship with a professional basketball player. The series was developed by Shaunie O’Neal, who is currently in a nasty divorce w/ Shaquille O’Neal.
Meet the Cast. Royce Reed, ex-girlfriend of NBA star Dwight Howard. The two have a son together and have been in the news recently w/ drama. A few months ago, Royce was seen at a Ludacris & T.O. pool party, dancing a bit on the provacative side. In her defense, she is a cheerleader/dancer (if that helps).

Here’s the video of Royce in all her dance glory. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMoSaqiIftw]

Jennifer Williams (wife of Eric Williams).

Erikka Moxam isn’t married to an NBA player, nor does she seem to share w/ the public if she’s “dated” anyone in the league. Not sure how or why she was casted for the show, but I’m sure we shall find out why.

Evelyn Lozada is the ex-fiance of former NBA star Antoine Walker. He was in the news last year for being broke and in seriously in debt. According to rumors, Evelyn threw Antoine the deuces when this was discovered. (Photo Credit)

Suzie Ketchem dated NBA player Michael Olowokandi for 10 years and the two have two children together. She’s tagged the “socialite” of the group and allegedly tries to befriend celebrities and loves the limelight.

Gloria Govan is the fiance of NBA star Matt Barnes who plays for Orlando Magic. Gloria and Matt have twin boys. The juice on her involves family. Her sister, Laura, is the fiancée of Gilbert Arenas. Laura allegedly had an affair with Shaq (this too was on lots of gossip sites). On the show, Shaunie actually addresses/asks Gloria about this. Guess we hafta tune in to see what happens.

Peep the Trailer and all it’s glory.

Premiers April 11 on VH1.

Lil Wayne Has a Gig in Jail

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Lil Wayne has been assigned a pretty decent jail-gig @ Riker’s Island–keeping watch over suicidal inmates. According to my favorite Lil Wayne baby-mama, Toya, “Wayne has a job. They got him on suicide watch for other prisoners. He watches the crazy prisoners and makes sure they don’t kill themselves…He likes the job even though they don’t pay him much.” He’s also a “jailhouse blogger”, writing responses to fan mail on his Weezy Thanx You blog. For the full story. The Weezy brand lives on in a positive light in jail.

Y’all can say what you want, but celebrities like attention. Hence, making pages public and open for the world to see. We all know that Lance and Eva recently broke-up. Today, I peeped some subliminal flirty type tweets from Bow Wow to Eva.

Peep the public conversation: @EvaMarcille see you like dairy queen. maybe we can go grab a blizzard. but i choose the1 with the snickers though :) Boweezy about 3 hours ago via web in reply to EvaMarcille

“Love is a many splendid thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love” S.Moss to @evamarcille 33 minutes ago via web

Eva’s response was: @BowWow how sweet, ? it! 16 minutes ago via UberTwitter in reply to BowWow

@EvaMarcille anytime :) 6 minutes ago via Echofon in reply to EvaMarcille

It’s probably harmless flirting, but I think it’s cute nonetheless.
