Less than a month away, fans of the original 1989 ‘Steel Magnolias’ movie are beaming with excitement.
Recently, we caught up with 39-year-old actor, Michael Ealy. We chatted with the Washington native, who was in town hosting a party at Park at Fourteenth, about politics, the success of ‘Think Like A Man’ (and it’s sequel), love and his latest film, ‘Unconditional’.
Michael Ealy: Unconditional is story about second chances, true friendship, redemption and hope. Ultimately I play a guy by the name of Papa Joe Bradford he is someone who has turned his life around and is now day in and day out, he’s doing everything he can to try and help the children in his community, especially the ones without fathers.
No, your eyes are not fooling you. Meet an aged Oprah Winfrey and Lenny Kravitz. Both, who have aged gracefully, thanks to Hollywood magical costume and make-up, are filming for the biopic, ‘The Butler’. As most of you know, the Lee Daniel’s film tells the story of Eugene Allen, who worked as a butler through a number of Presidents. Oprah plays his wife. Kravitz plays another butler in the film. G.O.O.D. Music’s Teyana Taylor is gracing the cover of VIBE Vixen‘s Premier Fashion Issue. The 21-year-old Harlem native was recently on the ‘net, for noting that she perhaps started the ‘tomboy chic’ look that Rihanna sometimes rocks. If you’ll recall, the two threw a few subliminal twitter shots at each other, but the spat quickly died down. Fast forward to the present day and Teyana’s chatting with Vixen about her edgy style, why she deserves more credit and working with ‘Ye . Peep a few excerpts below.
On if she created her tomboy chic, edgy style:
“Do I think I created this style? No. Did I bring it back? Yes! I branded snapbacks and sneakers. I made it sexy again. I’ve always been on my 90s shit, my tomboy shit, my sneakerhead sh*t. I do feel like I influenced [the style]. I made it okay for female artists to be comfortable in their skin, to be comfortable in street wear, to not always be glamorous 24/7. I would like to think I inspired a lot of artists.”
On how she began her look at an early age and being called ‘gay’ because of her style:
“I was 16; I was dressed my age. I had my Jordans, my fitteds, my snapbacks. I was typecast for being age-appropriate. Once I got older and matured more, it was still a ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ situation. When I was dressed in my streetwear, I was gay. Then, I do one shoot, show some skin and now I’m not a virgin. I can’t win for losing.”
Tuesday morning, the day after the new season of Basketball Wives LA aired, NBA baller Matt Barnes visited Power 105’s ‘The Breakfast Club’. Matt, who has been featured on the show, discussed his relationship with Gloria Govan (they have twin sons together and have broken up a few times publicly) and rumors that he dated Eva Longoria. Peep a few excerpts.
On if he and Gloria Govan are back together:
We’ve got a family, I put no one above, before my family. I just think it comes to a point where you kinda wake up and realize what’s important.
I was never really to heavy into Basketball Wives. I don’t think teams look too highly on reality shows.
On if he’s experienced karma in his relationship with Gloria:
It never gives them a pass, but Karma is a mother. It’s a part of growing up, it’s a part of relationships.

Amongst the ton of rave reviews Rihanna received on her new short haircut, CNN reporter, Piers Morgan was not a fan of her new hair. “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b*tches is f*cking up the economy”
And after the song hit, media, public and twitter were buzzing, wondering if the line was pure entertainment or if she was in fact a Republican. During a recent radio interview, a radio VJ asked President Obama about Nicki endorsing Romney in the song. He responded:
“Yeah, I’m not sure that’s exactly what happened. She likes to play different characters.”
After hearing the President’s response, Nicki took to twitter, addressing Obama directly.
She continued with:
What do you think about the President’s response? And should Nicki have not used that line about Romney or is it perfectly fine to express yourself creatively in music?
