Ice Cube to Star In ‘Humbug’ + Forest Whitaker Cast In ‘The Roots’ Miniseries
More big screen work for Ice Cube. Fresh off the success of Straight Outta Compton (where Cube was one of the film’s producers), the rapper turned actor will star in ‘Humbug‘. According to Variety, the script is a contemporary retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic story of a wealthy real estate mogul who is shown a path to redemption by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Tim Story (who has worked with Cube with ‘Barbershop’ and ‘Ride Along’) will direct, while Cube will also produce alongside Jeff Kwatinetz. Jones & Jones will co-produce. Cube is also about to start filming “Fist Fight” with Charlie Day.
