Dame Dash Apologizes to Jay-Z, Jim Jones & Former Roc-A-Fella Colleagues

Roc-A-Fella Records founder Damon “Dame” Dash is making a 180-degree turn from his usual social media rhetoric. Over the past month, he has taken to social media to blast former colleague and friend, Jay-Z, along with heated arguments with Hot 97 DJ, Funk Master Flex and record executive, Lyor Cohen. Now, he’s issued a heartfelt apology to his former friends in the industry. Written in the same font as VLAD-TV – the popular expose-style YouTube interview series featuring figures in hip-hop – he’s uploaded videos under the moniker, DDTV. In the first Instagram clip, he said:

“That’s what I do. So with that said- just pattern-wise – what you think I’mma do with a network? Y’all don’t want it with me. I been lettin’ y’all breathe. I’m chilln’. I’m mindin’ my business. I don’t have beef with anybody – pause. I’m working past it. So Jay-Z, if I offended you, I apologize. Lyor Cohen, if I offended you, I apologize. Steve Stoute, if I offended you, I apologize. Just ’cause you don’t have the same morals and principles, it’s cool. I’m not angry with you no more. I did what I had to do. I was a little aggravated about Aaliyah, so y’all just caught the brunt end of it. It was therapy.”

Dame Dash continued in another video:

“You know, I called Jim Jones today, and I was like, “I miss him.” I know y’all don’t know, but I miss him. As a brother, I love his family. I want him to be happy. And Jay, you know, the friendship we had was cool, man. I just miss it. But whatever he doin’, I’m cool with it, bro. I’m sorry, man. I wasn’t myself for a minute. Aaliyah had me f*cked up. And Biggs, I’m sorry, bro, if I offended you. Whatever you doin’, I’m with it. I love you, man. I know y’all mad at me, but, whatever. I’m sorry. I can admit it…”

What caused the change of heart? Many speculate Dame yearns to be a part of the caliber of crowd invited to Jay-Z and Beyoncé‘s RocNation Grammy Brunch.

Are Dame Dash’s apologies sincere?
