Naomi Campbell Shares Article Claiming That Tyra Banks Is The True Mean Girl

Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks have definitely had a rocky relationship over the years and it doesn’t look like the pair will be besties anytime soon. Tuesday (Nov. 17th), Naomi Campbell shared via her IG stories a link to an article that alleges Tyra Banks is actually the mean girls between the two models. The article goes into detail about how Tyra Banks treated the contestants on America’s Next Top Model and some of the controversial things she allowed to happen on the show.

The article also mentions how, Naomi Campbell never made the contestants on the modeling show she was apart of, called The Face, change their look. It reads,

“When Naomi Campbell was a mentor in The Face, she never told a girl to change her look. She did give her models tough love in improving their runway walks. But that’s only because she believed in their potential to grow. She was there to teach them.”

However, Tyra Banks often had each of the ladies undergo makeovers while on America’s Next Top Model. 

The drama between Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks is nothing new. As we previously reported, in July of 2019 Tyra Banks spoke on their troubled relationship and gave her take on it. She said,

“It wasn’t a rivalry. I’m very sensitive to that word because a rivalry is with two equals to me; whereas one was very dominant. She was a supermodel and I was just some new girl who got on a plane from Paris and was studying fashion and magazines at a fashion library.”

Tyra Banks continued,

“I had a very painful early days in Paris. As much as I was booking every single fashion show, people didn’t know I was going home at night crying my eyes out, because a woman I was looking up to seemed like she didn’t want me to be there and was doing everything in her power to make me go away.”

She added,

“I didn’t understand that as a young girl. Like, why is she doing this? This is so evil. This is so awful. The adult in me understands that she was reacting to an industry that was all about a token. When this one girl Kate Moss came on the scene, they weren’t telling Christy Turlington ‘You better look out. Kate Moss has got some tight cheekboknes like you do Christy. When Shalom Harlow came on the scene, they weren’t [like], Linda Evangelista look out, another brunette is on the loose. But when I came on the scene… ‘Naomi look out there’s a black girl that’s going to take your spot… Only one spot available.”
