Shaquille O’Neal Used To Urinate In A Bucket & Pour It On Rookies As A Prank, Says Former Teammate Gary Payton

It looks like Shaquille O’Neal was quite the prankster back in the day!

During a recent interview with VLADTV , O’Neal’s former teammate, Gary Payton, 53, revealed some interesting moments that took place. Payton, who was Shaq’s teammate for one year with the L.A. Lakers and then two years with the Miami Heat in the 2000s, explained that the NBA giant was a big “jokester”. Payton claims Shaq, 49, would go to the bathroom in a bucket and then dump it on unsuspecting rookies who were in stalls.

“We used to always play jokes, Shaq is a jokester. So if one of the rookies would be in the stall, he would take a bucket and use the bathroom in it for about a week. And then all of a sudden, he would pour it on them.”

It’s unclear how Shaq’s teammates reacted to his extreme pranks back in the day, but Gary Payton made sure to return the favor and prank Shaq as well! Payton explained, he once stole Shaq’s underwear–which is now a framed pair that he still owns– and messed with his pants, forcing him to be “free-balling” with a towel on in his truck.

“I got his shorts, his drawers one day and I took them and he had to wear them underneath his thing and be free balling all the time right. But we messed up his pants, so he didn’t have no drawers because he was trying to find his drawers and I had them. “

He continued,

“You know what i’m saying so he had to wrap a towel around him and shaq don’t care, he’ll go outside with the towel on everything he was just doing all kinds of stuff.. He’d get in his truck and ride around and then he would throw the towel out and then he’d be free-balling, So I used to keep all the shorts pair of drawers and all that stuff.”
