Boosie Badazz Doesn’t Think Jay-Z Is Musically Relevant In Today’s Era: It Ain’t His Songs Slashing Across No F*cking Social Media, It’s His Hustle

According to Boosie Badazz, no one’s bumping Jay-Z’s music these days, but there’s a reason for that.

During a recent interview with VladTV, Boosie Badazz shared his views on 21 Savage’s recent opinions about Nas lacking relevance in the modern-day game of Hip-Hop, and, in doing so, he just might have ruffled a few of the Hov fans’ feathers.

While Boosie Badazz expressed that he felt that 21 Savage’s comments were made from a young person’s perspective and solely depended on one’s own idea of relevancy, he stood firm in saying that Nas’ competitor, Jay-Z, doesn’t hold as much musical weight as he once did in 2022. Instead, he feels that it’s Jay-Z’s mogul mindset that has sustained pertinency.

When the topic of Jay-Z still having the ability to drop chart-topping-worthy hits arose, Badazz debated,

“Jay-Z’s not relevant, this day, for music. I don’t think he is. I don’t think Jay-Z’s relevant, this day, for music. I don’t, I don’t. Now, if you gon’ say Jay-Z relevant and Nas ain’t relevant, no!”

The “My Eyes Hurt” rapper continued by stating that it would be unfair to say that Jay-Z is commercially popular in today’s rap generation and not Nas. He also doesn’t think one is more relevant than the other.

Badazz ranted:

“No, no, no, no! Just like when I go to these clubs in Atlanta–you know–these twenty-five to thirty-five clubs–I’m not hearing Nas, I’m not hearing Jay-Z. Every club that I go in, it’s not one or the other, Vlad! I be in–n*gga, I’m in the city! I’m outside; I be everywhere! It’s not one or the other, Vlad! I’m telling you that.”

Jay-Z

Further into the conversation, he noted that Jay-Z is a business genius, showing his utmost respect for the tycoon’s billion-dollar endeavors.

“Jay-Z is respected by these people for being that boss that he is! When Jay-Z flash across that m*therf*cker, it’s something with a billion dollars, it’s something with a five hundred billion, two hundred billion when them young n*ggas see him. It ain’t his songs slashing across no f*cking social media! It’s his hustle. That n*gga got hustle! That’s what everybody f*cked up ’bout him [with] relevance right now.”

Nas

Although he does believe that Jay-Z could still sell albums, the 40-year-old added,

“No! I’m not finna say that I heard Jay-Z in the club and I don’t hear Nas! And if we go in the club of those age brackets, Jay-Z’s not getting played, and Nas’ not getting played. I’m telling you the truth, bro! One is not over the other, as far as relevance, as far as what I see in the clubs and sh*t.”
