EXCLUSIVE: 2 Chainz Bodyguard Claims Self-Defense in Battle w/ Photog Who Claims He Beat Him Up
2 Chainz Bodyguard Claims Self-Defense in Battle w/ Photog
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, 2 Chainz’s bodyguard is addressing a lawsuit filed against him by a photographer, over an altercation at Rockefeller Center. He claims that the only reason he became physical with him is due to self-defense. The incident happened last October, when the 40-year-old rapper arrived at 30 Rock, for an appearance on the ‘Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.‘ A photographer named Richard Capak was trying to take pictures of 2 Chainz outside the W. 50th St. entrance of NBC headquarters. 2 Chainz arrived with his security team when the 64-year-old freelance photog came up and started shooting.
The rapper’s 47-year-old bodyguard, Rory Smith, reportedly punched the photographer in the face, knocking him to the ground. He was later arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault.
On January 2, Smith responded to the lawsuit saying that he is invoking his Fifth Amendment Right against self-incrimination due to the pending criminal case. He also argues the photog’s claims are barred due to illegal acts by Capak and fraud.
He says the claims are barred due to the substantive unconscionable acts of Capak. The bodyguard also blames his actions for any alleged injuries he suffered.
