Rhona Bennett Leaves En Vogue After Being Left Out of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Performance
Rhona Bennett has announced her departure from En Vogue after more than two decades with the iconic R&B group, citing a communication breakdown that left her excluded from a major performance.
In a personal statement, Bennett explained that she discovered she was not included in En Vogue’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance on November 8th at the same time as the public. She noted that while she had been approved in the summer to host her own event on November 8th, she was never informed that En Vogue would also be performing that night—leaving her unable to adjust her schedule in time.
Bennett, who joined En Vogue in 2003 during a period of lineup changes, said the situation brought clarity to her next steps as an artist. She shared that she has spent years doing “deep work” to develop her voice personally, creatively, and spiritually, and that honoring her values and truth must take priority. In her statement, she wrote:
“It could’ve been nice to attend had I been given the opportunity to adjust my schedule.”
She added that she is entering a “new season of creativity, freedom, and contribution,” encouraging others not to “shrink” when growth feels uncomfortable.
Her exit marks the end of a 22-year run with the group. According to the summary included in the second screenshot, Bennett’s contributions during her tenure included touring, the 2018 Electric Café album, and the 2014 Lifetime film An En Vogue Christmas, which helped maintain the group’s legacy. *are you sad to see her exit?
