Deion Sanders Says There’s “Zero Chance’ He’ll Coach In The NFL After Seeing How His Son Shedeur Was Treated

Deion Sanders is shutting down speculation about a future move to the NFL, making it clear he plans to remain in college football.

During a recent appearance on First Take, the Colorado head coach addressed the rumors head-on after being asked about a possible jump to the professional ranks.

There’s zero chance,” Sanders said. “After everything that happened with my son last year, there’s no way.”

Sanders pointed to watching his son, Shedeur Sanders, navigate a difficult rookie season with the Cleveland Browns as a major factor in his decision. Despite a draft-day slide and instability at quarterback, Shedeur still emerged as a Pro Bowl selection.

Sanders had previously been linked to the Dallas Cowboys job before the team hired Brian Schottenheimer. However, longtime friend Adam Jones suggested only one scenario could change Sanders’ stance.

He’s not going to go and coach against Shedeur,” Jones said. “That’s first and foremost.”

For now, Sanders remains focused on building at Colorado, where his father-son coaching legacy continues.
