“TODAY” Anchor Savannah Guthrie Pleads For Public’s Help As Search For Missing Mother Continues: We Are At An Hour Of Desperation’

Today show co-host #SavannahGuthrie has issued a heartfelt public plea for help in finding her missing mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her home near Tucson, Arizona last weekend.

In a video shared today (Feb. 9) to social media, Guthrie described the search as a frightening ordeal and emphasized the urgency of the situation as the investigation continues into its second week. Authorities and family members believe Nancy was taken against her will, and law enforcement is working “around the clock” to locate her.

In the emotional message, Guthrie directly appealed to the public for any information that could help bring her mother home. “We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help,” she said, urging everyone to report any suspicious activity to authorities. She added, “We are at an hour of desperation and we need your help.”

In Guthrie’s absence from TODAY, #HodaKotb has returned to the desk. Co-anchor Craig Melvin shared that Kotb, who stepped away from the NBC morning show just over a year ago, would be filling in while Guthrie is out. Reflecting on the team’s bond, Kotb said, “You know what, Craig, we always talk about our show as a family. We are a family. I’m part of the family, and I’m happy to be with you because we show up for each other.”
