UPDATE: Family Feud: Jake Paul Walks Back Fake American Citizen’ Label For Bad Bunny After Brother Logan Calls Him Out
The Paul brothers appear to be divided over last night’s #SuperBowl halftime show.
#JakePaul, 29, started his Monday (Feb. 9) by somewhat walking back an X post that quickly landed him in hot water. Clarifying remarks in which he labeled #BadBunny a “fake American citizen” and encouraged fans to skip the singer’s performance, Jake said, “The problem with my tweet is the word ‘fake’ being misinterpreted. He’s not a fake citizen, obviously, because he’s Puerto Rican — and I love Puerto Rico and all Americans who support the country.” He added, “More so, Bunny is ‘fake’ because of his values and his criticism of our great country.”
Jake’s explanation came after his older brother, #LoganPaul, 30, publicly pushed back on the original comment. “I love my brother, but I don’t agree with this,” Logan wrote on X. “Puerto Ricans are Americans, and I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island.” That said, some fans were surprised by Logan’s stance, as he admitted he wasn’t excited to see Bad Bunny’s halftime show when asked by reporters ahead of the game.
