Confirmed: Rapper Andre 3000’s Mother Dies, At the Age of 58
There have been a number of reports that rapper Andre 3000’s mother, Sharon Benjamin Hodo, was reportedly found dead in her Atlanta home, Tuesday morning. The hip-hop site DDOT reports:
It’s been confirmed to me by multiple sources, who were neighbors of the Outkast rappers family, that police and ambulances were up and down their street at the home where Sharon Benjamin Hodo, mother of Andre 3000 was a resident. Details are sketchy right now but my source say she was early 60’s. My sources have indicated that Ms. Benjamin Hodo resided in Rex, Georgia. Cause of death still remains unknown at this time but she’s believed to have been found early this morning. The area of residence is confirmed to be off Stage Coach road in Rex, Georgia.
No official statement has been released, however, Gipp of Goodie Mobb tweeted:

The Clayton County police department confirmed that Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, 58, died of what appears to be natural causes. She reportedly died on Monday, the day of her son’s 38thbirthday, at her home in the Clayton County community of Rex. Benjamin-Hodo founded Camp Starlight, an academic and creative outlet for kids, at New Morning Light Baptist Church in Conley. Her husband, Robert L. Hodo, is pastor of the church.
The family has asked for continued support of Camp Starlight in lieu of flowers.
