[WATCH] Kris Jenner Defends Granddaughter’s Overly Criticized Name: ‘I Love the Name North!’

Kris Jenner is known for being the savvy momager to the popular Kardashian clan. The 57-year-old super business woman and talk show host sat down with the ladies of ‘The View’ and spoke about her new granddaughter North West, daughter to Kim and boyfriend Kanye West. Born five weeks early on Father’s Day, baby North weighed under 5 pounds. The mother of five and third time grandmother gushed about the newest addition to the family and her new talk show premiering in July. Peep the excerpts below.

Her feelings on the name North: 

I love the name North. I am pro-North. Absolutely! The way she explained it to me was that North means ‘highest power,’ and she said that North was their highest point together.’ I thought that was really sweet. It’s North West. but you don’t walk around calling somebody, “Hi, North West”, it’s just North. They have a nickname for her, I’m not sure what they’ve decided on.

On new talk show, ‘Kris’:  

I’m going to be looking around, and be like “where is everybody?”  but they will come in from time to time and make little guest appearances. I am so excited.

In a recent interview, Kanye recounted a story where Kim’s mother, Kris, threw major shade. Reportedly, Ye’ was none to pleased to Kris’ reaction to unfinished music from his Yeezus album. Reportedly, he stated:

He raises his eyebrows. ‘Great job?’ he says and sets off on a comic riff that cracks up everyone in the room. Toasting with his champagne glass, he says, ‘Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid!’ He looks down at his waist. ‘Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!’ Jenner laughs off the mockery but soon is ready to leave. Hugging West goodbye, she tells him, ‘I love you.’
