[Photos] Nas Schools Harvard University Students, Introduces Hip Hop Fellowship
Great look for some Harvard University students. This week, Nas (real name Nasir Jones) visited the Ivy league school, participating in their new program, called Nasir Jones Hiphop fellowship. Nas was invited by Henry Louis Gates (Harvard’s director of the WEB Du Bois Research Institute/ host of PBS’ current historical series The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross), as the result of a major endowment from an anonymous donor who wanted Nas to be the face of the program. Reportedly, the Nasir Jones fellowship
will provide selected scholars and artists with an opportunity to show that ‘education is real power’, as it builds upon the achievements of those who demonstrate exceptional capacity for productive scholarship and exceptional creative ability in the arts, in connection with hip-hop.
Check out some of the candids from his visit. [Rollingstone, Instagram, Vine]
