Mark Cuban Admits He’s Prejudiced, Apologizes to Trayvon Martin’s Family For ‘Black kid in a hoodie’ Remark
Mark Cuban has caused quite a stir, after comments he made during a recent speech. The outspoken Mavericks owner was speaking at a Nashville business conference (Inc.‘s GrowCo Conference) and was sharing his point of view about the aftermath of the Donald Sterling controversy. During his speech, he said:
We’re all prejudiced in one way or another….If I see a black kid in a hoodie, and it’s late at night, I’m walking to the other side of the street. If on that side of the street there’s a guy that has tattoos all over his face — white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere — I’m walking back to the other side of the street.
His ‘black kid in a hoodie’ comment struck a nerve, causing media outlets to share the speech, which resulted in some criticism. Cuban later apologized to Trayvon Martin’s family
In hindsight I should have used different examples. I didn’t consider the Trayvon Martin
