Michelle Obama Invites Debbie Allen & Female Dance Students to Celebrate #DanceAtTheWhiteHouse [Photos]

In honor of Black History Month, this week First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated with a workshop on dance bringing African American dance icons to the White House to help teach young, female dance students from across Washington, D.C. choreographers Debbie Allen, Fatima Noir & Dance Theater of Harlem’s Virginia Johnson participated and brought along students. As part of the @whitehouse’s #BlackHistoryMonth celebration, First Lady @michelleobama highlights the contributions African-American women have made to dance by welcoming 51 local Washington, D.C. students to work with iconic leaders in dance, including Alvin Ailey Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison, Debbie Allen, Dance Theatre of Harlem Artistic Director Virginia Johnson, and hip-hop choreographer Fatima Robinson.
