(UPDATE) Desiigner Gun Charges Dropped, Still Faces Possession of a Controlled Substance

Rapper Desiigner (real name Sidney Royel Selby III) has been arrested. The ‘Panda’ rapper was cuffed, along with four other people, Thursday night in NYC, after a traffic dispute near the Lincoln Tunnel. According to a new report, cops were called over reports that a white Range Rover with a passenger who allegedly flashed a firearm at another car. Police arrived, pulled the vehicle over and found loose prescription drugs, marijuana and a gun inside.

The rapper was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree with a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in plain view, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and menacing in the second degree.

The other four people were also charged with menacing with a firearm and possession of illegal substances.

As of Friday morning, he had not posted bail.

Update #2. September 10th, 2016

Reportedly, the D.A. has dropped the felony gun charge for which he was arrested Thursday night. According to a new report, no gun was found in the vehicle. The D.A. has also dropped the charge of felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. However, pills including Oxycontin, methadone and steroids were found in the vehicle. Desiigner still faces charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and menacing.
