(EXCLUSIVE) Chance the Rapper Sues Bootleggers Over Illegal Merch at Chicago Festival
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Chance the Rapper is demanding the court help stop counterfeiters from hawking illegal merchandise outside his upcoming performance at a huge
music festival in Chicago.
He explains he makes a ton of money from selling fans his official products and if the bootleggers aren’t stopped he will lose a substantial amount of cash.
CTR Touring and Chance the Rapper LLC filed suit against the unknown counterfeiters that will be outside the “Magnificent Coloring Day Festival” on September 24th in Chicago at the U.S. Cellular Field.
He explains that he is currently embarked on a sold-out North American tour which started earlier this month.
The rapper says his fan base is strong and very loyal and he makes a substantial amount of revenue from selling t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and other apparel at his concerts — and claims to have sold
thousands of items already since the start of his tour.
However, he accuses “bootleggers” of planning to hawk illegal merchandise outside the festival in Chicago. He says the counterfeiters were outside his Hollywood Bowl performance in Los Angeles earlier this month with backpacks and duffel bags selling various knock off merch.
He has filed suit demanding the court grant him an injunction that allows any local law enforcement to seize all illegal products being sold at the festival and unspecified damages for the lost income he
will suffer by their actions.
