Tessa Thompson To Star In ‘Men In Black’ Spinoff
Tessa Thompson has been cast in Sony’s “Men In Black” reboot. She will join Chris Hemsworth, whom she previously worked with in “Thor: Ragnarok.”
F. Gary Gray will direct the movie. According to reports, the reboot will feature new characters rather than Agents K and J, portrayed by the original stars Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. Sources say the new project is more of an ensemble piece and will be more global in scope. The studio has the film dated for June 14, 2019.
Thompson’s breakout film role came in Tina Mabry’s 2009 indie film Mississippi Damned. In film, she starred as Nyla Adrose in the drama For Colored Girls (2010), civil rights activist Diane Nash in the historical drama Selma (2014), Bianca in the sports drama Creed (2015), and as Valkyrie in the superhero film Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
