New York Lawyer Tries Serving Papers To Cardi B But Can’t Find Her
Cardi B is redefining what it means to lay low. After the Harpers Bazaar showdown last weekend with rap colleague, Nicki Minaj, the “I Like It” rapper has been strategically incognito – according to reports. Despite the rapper sharing subliminal messages to Minaj via her Instagram, and most recently hinting at “revealing everything,” the drama between the two femcees appears to be ongoing.
But if it isn’t one thing, it’s another, Cardi could also be headed to the courtroom in the coming days. With the rapper being undercover, a specific lawyer is trying to get in contact with the rapper to serve her papers for an alleged assault by a fan requesting an autograph after the 2018 Met Gala.

Attorney, Daniel Szalkiewicz is representing Giovanni Arnold, the autograph seeker who is alleging the scuffle between him and Cardi’s entourage went down outside the Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side on May 8. According to reports, by law, Szalkiewicz is granted 120 days to serve the defendant their papers in order to move forward with the suit, but on Thursday, court documents detail how Szalkiewicz has had difficulties moving forward with his lawsuit.
Diligent attempts to locate Cardi B … have so far been fruitless and the parties’ dedication to avoiding responsibility for their actions has made it impossible for plaintiffs to serve them within the 120-day limit.
As he is unlucky within his findings, he is requesting more time to locate the rapper,
New York courts have broad discretion to grant an extension of time to serve the summons … here plaintiff can establish `good cause’ for an extension of time and that doing so is in the `interest of justice.’

Papers were reportedly served to her husband, Offset on August 12th. The Migos rapper was caught on camera being served, and also caught throwing the papers out the window.
