Kanye West Is Having His First Opera!
On the heels of releasing his very first gospel album Jesus Is King, Kanye West revealed he’s taking on another genre: Opera!
He shared the artwork for the invitation to the event titled Nebuchadnezzar.
The opera is scheduled for Sunday (Nov. 24) at Hollywood Bowl and will be directed by Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft. Of course, it will also have music from his notable Sunday Service performers as well as other artists like Peter Colins and Infinite Song.

Nebuchadnezzar is the name of a Biblical man, who was the King of Babylon for 40 years. While he was said to be a harsh ruler at first but later develops a respect for God after a turn of events. He turns to God like never before after losing everything.
Kanye West previously spoke on the Biblical figure.
“Nebuchadnezzar was the king…And he looked at his entire kingdom and said, ‘I did this.’ And God said, ‘Oh, for real? You did this?’ Sounds kind of similar, right? I’m standing on the tip of the mountain talking about Yeezus. Saying, ‘I did this!’ That I’m a God! And I would—I could talk to Jesus at the end of my show. I had a guy dressed up as Jesus, at the end of my show. Nebuchadnezzar was diagnosed with bipolar disorder…and he was still king!”
Fans have had mixed reactions about West taking on opera.
