Real Housewives of New York Fires Most of Its Cast

It’s official! Housewives Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and rookie Cindy Barshop are off of the popular reality show. A spokesperson for Bravo network released this statement,
“Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn De Lesseps will be returning for season 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City. We’ve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have on-going discussions with them.”
Jill, Alex and Kelly were arguably the most popular ladies on the show with their twitter beefs and constant bickering. I guess the producers want a better representation of New York. Alex, Jill and Cindy have all tweeted about the situation.

Alex McCord sent an exclusive email to People saying,
“Of course Simon and I are sad not to continue with RHONY but it’s a friendly decision and discussions with Bravo are ongoing for other projects.”
Jill Zarin’s rep also released a statement,
“Jill is humbled by the extraordinary amount of media interest in her response and looks forward to personally opening up about all of this very soon and announcing some exciting new projects.”
There has been no word from Kelly Bensimon yet, but housewife LuAnn De Lesseps stated that there are already replacements for the ladies,
“Well I can say that we were picked up and we’re supposed to start shooting in October and apparently there are three or four that they are trading in and out.”
An insider finally reported to Huffington Post that they want to “add ladies to the cast that better represented New York — aggressive, powerful, glamorous and very wealthy. Next season ‘New York’ will have the glamour of the ‘Sex and the City’ movies rather than the twitter wars and bickering.”
Ouch!
