Pitbull who is nominated in the “Latin Music: Favorite Artist” and “Pop or Rock Music: Favorite Artist” categories gave a statement expressing his pleasure in being nominated. “It’s an honor to be here with with the king of caliber artists here,” he said of his fellow nominees. “Me, I come to the awards show and I just learn, I watch everyone, I see how they handle their performances and hopefully grab a couple things and apply it to my career. So to be here nominated and to also be performing at the AMAs, I want to thank you.” And Nicki Minaj gave a comment about being nominated in both categories; “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist” and “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album” with Lil Wayne saying,
“I don’t know, he’s won enough. He’s been winning for 10 years, so he can move to the side and let me win, hopefully.”
