The Weeknd Isn’t Bringing Out Any Special Guests For His Super Bowl Performance: There Wasn’t Any Room
The Weeknd is keeping the Super Bowl halftime stage to himself this weekend.
The Save Your Tears singer, who will serve as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LV in Tampa Sunday (Feb. 7th), said he won’t be bringing out any special guests.
He told the NFL Network:
“I’ve been reading a lot of rumors. There wasn’t any room to fit it in the narrative and the story I was telling in the performance. So there’s no special guests, no.”
He also teased his performance on Instagram Friday, Feb. 5th.

It’s not clear what exactly he has up his sleeve, but it’s costing him seven figures of his own money.
His manager, Wassim Slaiby, said recently that The Weeknd is spending $7 million of his funds for his performance to:
“make this halftime show be what he envisioned.”

The Weeknd’s co-manager Amir “Cash” Esmailian continued,
“We always had the Super Bowl on our bucket list, and we’ve always had timelines for all of our goals. It came a few years earlier than we expected.”
The Weeknd added,
“We’ve been really focusing on dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and we want to do that with the Super Bowl.”
