Fugees Announce Reunion Tour For 25th Anniversary Of ‘The Score’: God Has Brought Us Together
Fugees fans will be excited to hear that the iconic group is reuniting for a 12-show tour!
Earlier today (Tuesday, Sept. 21st), the Fugees announced they would embark on a tour to commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Score. The 1996 album is considered a classic, and it spawned numerous hit songs like “Killing Me Softly” and “Ready Or Not.”
The reunion tour will bring together Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel for the first time in over a decade. The group will perform a total of 12 shows together–eight in the United States, two in Europe, and two in Africa. While the majority of the performances are scheduled for November, the group will kick off its reunion tour tomorrow (Sept. 22nd) with a pop-up show in New York City. The exact location has not yet been disclosed.
It is also worth noting that the group has teamed up with Global Citizen to host charitable initiatives during the reunion tour.
Regarding the Fugees‘ upcoming tour, Lauryn Hill commented:
“The Fugees have a complex but impactful history. I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world.”
Additionally, Wyclef Jean said:
“As I celebrate 25 years with The Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music, we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the unheard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together.”
Tickets for the reunion tour go on sale starting Friday, Sept. 24th.
